WHAT IS
THERAPY BOTOX?

Therapy Botox refers to the use of botulinum toxin injections for therapeutic purposes beyond cosmetic applications. Botox, a brand name for onabotulinumtoxinA, can be used to treat various medical conditions and provide therapeutic benefits. These conditions may include reducing wrinkles, treating hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), muscle spasms, lazy eye, migraines, and certain neurological disorders. Dermatologists, healthcare professionals, and specialists administer Therapy Botox to address specific health concerns and improve patients' quality of life.

WHAT IS THERAPY BOTOX USED FOR?

  • Migraines and headaches

  • Neck pain

  • Teeth grinding

  • Jaw clenching

  • Trigger points (muscle pain)

  • Shoulder and back pain

  • Muscle spasms

  • Excessive sweating

  • And MORE!

Therapy Botox relaxes your muscles or reduces glandular or nerve activity, which helps reduce the pain or symptoms of the above conditions.

Therapy Botox is used to relieve medical conditions.

HOW DOES BOTOX FOR SWEATING WORK?

Botox for sweating, also known as hyperhidrosis, works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that stimulate the sweat glands. This treatment involves injecting Botox (botulinum toxin) into the affected areas, typically the armpits. Here's how it works:

  • Botox injections block the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter responsible for signaling the sweat glands to become active.

  • With the nerve signals blocked, the sweat glands do not receive the instructions to produce excessive sweat.

  • The effects of Botox for sweating are temporary, typically lasting for several months. Over time, the nerve signals gradually return, and the treatment may need to be repeated to maintain the desired results.

SIDE EFFECTS OF THERAPY BOTOX

When Botox is used for therapeutic benefits it has very few side effects that are also quite rare, but some examples could include:

  • Temporary weakness of the nearby muscles

  • Drooping eyelids

  • Facial asymmetry

  • Minor bruising at the injection site

  • Dry mouth

The side effects are very rare and temporary, but also vary depending on the injection site of the Botox.
